Hydra attempts to weaponize the Obelisk's power using a sample from one of its victims, but their mission partially fails. Raina begs Skye's father for help with Hydra's demands for the Obelisk, but he angrily berates her for not delivering Skye, then kills the two men who sought him out to perform an illegal surgery. Simmons's cover is discovered by Raina, who contacts Coulson and arranges a meeting at which she offers not to reveal Simmons to Hydra if Coulson allows her to take Skye to her father. Coulson refuses the offer and Simmons's identity is exposed, however, Hydra security chief Bobbi Morse is actually another undercover S.H.I.E.L.D. agent and rescues her. Coulson has Raina tagged so she can lead them to Hydra, and she discloses the location of Skye's father. Skye goes on ahead, but he is already gone. The team finds the bodies of the men murdered by Skye's father, and Skye realizes he is a monster, something that provokes rage and grief in him as he watches on a security camera. Skye resolves to help the team defeat her father and is shown the writing by Coulson, which she realizes is a map. Fitz and Simmons are reunited while Morse - revealed to be Hunter's ex-wife - joins the team. Skye's father delivers the Obelisk to Whitehall himself and offers to join forces with Hydra, aiming to kill Coulson and the rest of S.H.I.E.L.D..
