Third former, Verity Russell, has landed a starring role in the new Netflix drama, The Crown, which launched on 4th November.

Verity plays the part of the young Princess Elizabeth in the lavish drama, which chronicles the life of Queen Elizabeth II from the 1940s to modern times. She appears in the opening sequences in four of the initial ten episodes and has a speaking part in three of them.

The series, based on the award-winning play, The Audience, by Peter Morgan, begins with an inside look at the early reign of the Queen, who ascended the throne at the age of 25 after the death of her father, King George VI. This is the global video-on-demand giant's first original series shot and produced in the UK.

Verity won the part after her dance teacher, Victoria Sumrie, the mother of L6th former, Ben Sumrie, sent in a recording of her to casting agents. She was auditioned by one of the directors, Stephen Daldry, and the actor, Jared Harris, who plays King George VI, at Elstree Studios. Filming was mainly done last summer across various locations in London and the South East.

The part of Queen Elizabeth is played by Claire Foy, with Matt Smith as the Duke of Edinburgh, Vanessa Kirby as Princess Margaret and John Lithgow as Winston Churchill.

这是传统的英式寄宿学校排年级方式，从6岁入学到18岁毕业，每两个年级被分为上下两个"form"，所以1年级=lower first、2年级=upper first以此类推到12年级upper sixth

但是16世纪-20世纪的实践证明，太小的孩子不适合送去寄宿，于是英国出台1944年教育法令禁止传统公学招收11岁以下的孩子。upper third（11岁）以下的年级都被砍掉了，入学年在一些保持传统的学校成了唯一的third form、高年级称呼不变，这里演员应该是11岁

peter回来后，elizabeth得知除了等Margaret到25岁这个条件还需要过一年获政府许可才可以，而且即便如此教会也有较强的反对声音所以困难重重，elizabeth曾两次跟首相谈过希望游说一下内阁结果没有成功，最后elizabeth被迫中断了他们俩的婚事
