Then, coins in hand, they return to their altitudinous home using an ingenious contraption and prepare for another day, the same as the one before.
While the dualistic absurdity/familiar comfort of repetitive labor is one theme of the film, Ice Merchants also explores how daily rituals serve as a foundation for human relationships and how the breaking of these connections interacts with these seemingly mundane routines. The floppy hats father and son lose to the wind on each dive to the valley are replaced with new ones, while a yellow coffee mug is unused, yet brooded over. Gonzalez describes the film as “a family drama about loss and family connection.”

很漂亮的动画，透视、动态画得都很好，一家人相互扶持的故事挺温暖的，结尾有些忧伤
有趣的动画，奇妙的构想 氛围渲染的很好，构图画面色彩也很舒服 恐高+密恐慎入，很刺激

故事简单却使人印象深刻。在和谐的元素中，可使现实归于现实，情感归于情感。
看似失去的并没有远离我们，一次次的相拥，渐渐流逝的时间，日积月累推挤成山，支撑起失坠的生活。
这片可能看起来色彩挺单调的，但是正因此很考验构图和色彩运用的功底，烟雾特效和流体运动还有人体透视的作画都非常棒，由此构成的简单的故事非常打动人心，尽管它一言不发，但是优秀的镜头语言已经告诉了我们一切，并将情感宣泄出来，非常能打动人心，可以说胜于精简了。
