Derek engages the Kanima in a fight interrupted by Chris and Gerard; Chris is attacked by it. The Kanima does not attack Gerard, instead seeming to communicate with him, which confuses Chris. The Kanima then paralyzes Danny and six others at a gay club. Finding Jackson passed out, Stiles locks him up in a police van. Stiles suggests killing him, but Scott counters that Jackson is worth saving, as he had risked his life for them before. Jackson overhears this and starts to cry but quickly sees that he is transforming. Scott, Stiles and Allison then see that he has transformed and escaped. Lydia translates the Latin passage on the Kanima for Allison, which states that the Kanima seeks a master, ultimately concluding that Jackson is being controlled by someone.
