Dr. Deaton tells Scott that the Argents have information on the strange creature in a bestiary, and informs the Argents that the creature immobilizes its victims with a paralytic toxin substance coming from his nails. When Stiles takes his jeep in for repair, he is paralyzed by the creature's toxin and witnesses it kill the mechanic. Jackson discovers there are actually over 2 hours of missing footage from the night he recorded himself. At a lacrosse game, Scott sees Boyd's eyes become gold, revealing he is now a werewolf. While searching for the bestiary, Stiles is confronted by Derek and Erica. The creature attacks, paralyzing Derek. Derek falls into the pool and Stiles jumps in to save him. They discover the creature cannot swim, so they stay in the water. During a fight with Scott, the creature sees its own reflection and flees, making Derek realize that it is a Kanima. Gerard corners Scott and stabs him in front of the hospital, revealing that he knows Scott's secret. From there, Scott was forced to do whatever Gerard said so no harm comes to Scott's mother.
